Holding her pose a second longer, the mysterious young elf abruptly stopped as if nothing had happened and walked away. Behind her, the inky black wave was receding to reveal the blue pre-dawn twilight sky.

“Minus the sky disappearing,” Glaine commented, trying not to sound as flabbergasted as he felt. “That was new.”
“What do you think it means?” Kameey’l asked.
“She’s on a quest,” Vargr explained. “I don’t understand any of what she said, but I know a quest when I see it.”
They were silent for a moment longer. “Then so are you,” Lin noted.
Vargr sat, staring at the elf. “Then so am I,” she whispered.
