Nita Wilkes first became interested in writing as the result of an eighth grade homework assignment. An avid reader and lover of mysteries, she began writing seriously following her retirement as an Executive Assistant at Southwest Research Institute in 2006. Her book, 10 Days to Die, was nominated for a 2019 Author's Academy Award.
