Katie Sweeting has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember, and now writes books that evoke a particular sense of place and character which makes the reader long to inhabit the worlds she creates. Her first book was non-fiction, on the prayer movement in NYC, but studying Olaudah Equiano compelled her to write a historical novel about his daughter and sister - Remnant. Her second novel features both Deaf and hearing characters, set in the early 2000s.
As an English Professor at Hudson County Community College, Katie imparts her love for the written word to her students, teaching them to write well and analyze literature.
Katie is also a Fulbright Scholar to India and presented a 2-day webinar on Engaging Students in an Online Environment garnering over 3000 views each day.
