Katherine Bennett, a graduate of Illinois State University, studied writing under Paul J. Gillette, a Pulitzer-nominated author. She founded Rockbridge Publishing, which boasted a catalog of two dozen books about the Civil War when it was sold to a commercial publisher. She has worn many hats in her eight decades on Earth---teacher, administrator, stained glass artist, publisher, and headhunter. She spent ten years arranging charter flights and accompanying club members to play golf worldwide. Her hobbies and interests include history, travel, genealogy, writing, cooking, gardening, miniature doll houses, word games, PBS, and British TV programming. She delights in modern technology. “Especially,” she says, “when Alexa can explain it to me.” She has lived in five states, including several happy years aboard a 46-foot Chris-Craft yacht in the Newport Beach (Ca.) back harbor. Now retired in the Chicago area, she draws on life experience for characters, settings, and motivation.
