John MacGhillie Mhoire

John MacGhillie Mhoire was born to Scottish and Irish parents, and moved to Northern California as a child, where his father served as Deputy Commander of a U.S. military base. But his family’s legacy reaches back further—his grandfather, once a high-ranking member of the Royal Arch Masons in Glasgow, Scotland, later became a member of the NYPD after immigrating to the United States. This dual heritage of ancient mystery and law enforcement discipline planted the seeds for the stories John would one day tell.

A man of action as much as imagination, John holds an 7th-degree black belt and has spent the last 30 years as a Muay Thai instructor, coaching everyone from novice students to professional MMA fighters. He’s a former fighter, a certified Skydiver, Base Jumper, and an early pioneer of Bungee jumping in the U.S.-including several legendary renegade jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge.

John’s experience also includes work as a Hollywood stuntman and stunt coordinator, contributing to films like Blade II & IIIThe GameGi Joe, and The Dead & the Damned. His love for mythology, ancient relics, and historical conspiracies eventually drew him back to storytelling, blending his archaeological passion (once his college major before an extreme sports injury redirected his path) with his martial and cinematic background.

Today, John splits his time between California, Colorado, and Texas with his wife and twin sons. An avid traveler, he’s explored the mysteries of Scotland, Egypt, Turkey, Mexico, and beyond, forever chasing the next forgotten truth.

His favorite quote, lifted from a certain legendary adventurer:
“It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage.”

For John MacGhillie Mhoire, the mileage continues—and every mile carries a mystery waiting to be told.
