D. A. Spruzen grew up near London, U.K., graduated from the London College of Dance and Drama Education, and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. She teaches writing in Northern Virginia and is past president of the Northern Virginia Writers Club. Her poems and short stories have appeared in many online and print publications. Her new urban fantasy series, “Sleuthing with Mortals,” is well underway. The first book, “The Turkish Connection,” is now available for preorder and will be published in September. The second, “The Witch of Tut,” will come out in early December, and the third, “The Knight, the Gnome, and the Fox,” in February 2024. She is also the author of an historical novel, “The Blitz Business” (set in WWII England), the first two books of The Flower Ladies Trilogy (Not One of Us and Lily Takes the Field), and Crossroads: Two Novellas, and a poetry collection (Long in the Tooth). Dorothy also enjoys the visual arts, working mostly in watercolor, pastels, and acrylics.
