A L Masters is the crime fiction pen-name of Ken Webb. He was born, raised and educated in the UK. Following university he emigrated to Australia. He lives in Sydney. For many years, he was a teacher of Modern and Ancient History, and still lectures to senior students and teachers. For over thirty years, under his real name, he has been the author of many top-selling History textbooks, study guides and articles in New South Wales, Victoria and Australia wide. His publishers have included CUP, McGraw-Hill, Cengage, Get Smart Education among others. He no longer teaches as writing has taken over. The crime fiction writer has long been trying to break out. Ken Webb eventually became "A L Masters" with his first crime novel "Malicious Obsession". The central character in "Malicious Obsession" is Detective Inspector Spence Hargreaves who leads his team from Swindon Police HQ in Wiltshire, in southern England. A L Masters' second novel is "Delusions of Grandeur" which came out in 2021 and is available on Amazon.
